The night before the shoot one of the worst snow storms in ten years hit the UK. The entire shoot budget qA committed to getting a bodybuilder from London to Birmingham the following morning. At 6am in terrible visibility the entire crew crawled up the M1 to the location. The artist Jack, who was attempting to fly in from Ireland had watched every cancelled flight for four hours before giving up and going home. The film successfully wrapped 8 hours later, sanity still just about in tact.
Ryan never stopped. His only disappointment that he had wished we had given him more warning so he could have de-hydrated some more to look even leaner. It wasn't easy to explain that he was going to look powerful and fragile in the film. The whole concept was to dwarf him in the emptiness of the room. He didn't mind in the end. His only concern being that he had to leave on time to get to a nearby gym which was well known on the circuit. We will never forget dealing with minus five outside whilst trying to keep track of a giant man in a sparkling blue thong.
